Four Sanctuaries
Sanctuaries:
Noosa Regional Gallery Exhibition
These four paintings were done for a specific exhibition. The requirements of the exhibition were to create artwork with the theme Sanctuary. I chose four centers; two in India, Meherabad and Meherazad, one in the US in Myrtle Beach, the Meher Center, and the fourth being Avatar's Abode near Brisbane Australia. Each was to be in a square format, 10" by 10".
I had developed a style of painting used for my mainly corporate illustration work at that time that was a hybrid of western and eastern styles. Predominantly influenced by certain cubist modern styles including art deco; as well as from the east; Indian and Islamic miniatures. These have in common non-traditional perspective, often a flat plan composition and a freedom of scale.
Prints in various sizes as well as originals are available.
